NYSC to post corp members for National Service to IDP Camps
For some, this will be the toughest of times to be a Youth Corps Member. The government has decided to deploy corps members compulsorily to IDP camps. This is coming at a time when the nation faces security challenges. Tackling the security challenges will not be a walk in the park and now due to the desperation and need for more hands to help in rehabilitation efforts the NYSC Director General made the announcement that youths are being deployed in service of their country to help with the running and provision of services at the various Internally Displaced Persons Camp. Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Teachers and Social Workers will be on high priority lists.
Some parents are dreading the development.
But Duty to Country calls...

Ban on Sale and Purchase of Fuel in Jerrycans by the Inspector General of Police.
A Twitter user who is originally Dutch and lives in Lagos Femke "Funke" had this view on the recent ban on the sale and purchase of Scarce Fuel in Jerrycans by the Inspector General of Police.
One wonders if the IGP is a member of the populace and how he powers his fleet of cars and office and his personal home. Okay, i forgot. He has some perks of office which the rest of the populace is not privy too and so he lives in a bubble.
I believe many will agree with her it makes no sense.

It has been replaced by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) The international Children's charity group, Save The Children said millions of Nigerian children did not benefit from the programme. Save the Children has identified discrimination as the largest threat to children born in developing countries.Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Ben Foot, the country director of the organisation noted that millions of children in Nigeria did not benefit from the progress made with fighting extreme poverty under the MDGs. Foot stated that 16,000 children in developing countries die from preventable causes such as geography, gender, ethnicity, disability or because they are victims of conflict.

“Despite progress and in that process, we have actually left behind millions of children in Nigeria who are not benefiting from education, health care and protection.
“Every Last Child calls for three basic guarantees in fair financing, equity and accountability to children.
“The campaign is to galvanise people, from politicians to children, to recognize that fact and put in place policies and actions to bring those children into the game,” he said.
Sometimes, you just wonder if these projects are making a dent in the development goals. Even after 15 years, it still feels like an uphill battle to make a difference.

Breaking: $12.9 Billion Arms Scandal Again
The Nation newspaper is reporting that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has uncovered another $12.9 Billion Arms deal Scandal under the President Goodluck Jonathan Administration. It has flagged and frozen an account with $500 Million whose owners haven't been traced. Investigations are still ongoing.
The EFCC source is quoted as saying “From our findings so far, the amount involved in the arms deals was over $15billion. The $2.1billion which you have heard so much about is just one transaction into an account in the First Bank of Nigeria in New York.
“They moved the money into the FBN account from where they were disbursing and re-routing the cash. Our priority is to recover these funds but we will still prosecute the individuals and companies involved.” The source also stated that what the EFCC has recovered in just one year is more than the total recovery by the EFCC since inception while also giving insights into the probe of Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke and businessman Jide Omokore.

Soldiers Assault Lawyer in Festac
It was another ugly incident as some soldiers allegedly assaulted a Lawyer going about his business. It seems the sad incident occured as a result of a disorderly Petrol Queue at the 23 Road Mobil Petrol Station. Tempers have flared due to the continued scarcity and the ugliness in most people after waiting long hours at the queues has resulted in a lot of unfortunate incidents. I hope the Lawyer gets some Justice as it is believed the Soldiers chased his vehicle and shot at the Vehicle and went ahead to beat him up. Sad.

Piers Morgan's Opinion on Beyonce profiting off Grieving Mothers
I just can't wait for the Beehive to pounce on Piers Morgan. The journalist has stated that he is uncomfortable with superstar Beyonce profiting from the Deaths of Police Brutality victims in her record sales. He stated this in his column for the Daily Mail. Calling her in his usual tongue in cheek way ''the born-again-black woman with a political mission''. He states matter of factly that he doesn't like it when entertainers go political.
