Herdsmen Attack: Army assures Affected communities of Arrest of Culprits.

The Army in a statement assured the residents of affected communities in Cattle Herdsmen Massacres and Attacks of the government's commitment to Rehabilitating their communities and maintaing the Peace. It has been a difficult time in the past few months with the escalated clashes and attacks of Marauding herdsmen laying seige to communities and destroying lives and properties in the southern parts of the country.
 The Nigerian army has decided to use a team of specially trained personnel to checkmate the excesses of the marauding Fulani herdsmen terrorising some parts of the country.The military said any Fulani man found culpable will be treated just like a Boko Haram terrorist or a Niger Delta militant.The army said the criminal activities of the bloodthirsty cattle rearer will no longer be tolerated .
The herdsmen mostly of Fulani extraction have been causing mayhem in their host communities in recent times and are blamed for  the killings of hundreds of people in Agatu and Enugu State is their most recent recorded attack .The Nigerian army's Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, the Director of Defence Information (DDI), on Saturday, April 30, spoke about the gruesome killings of at least 40 farmers, allegedly by some Fulani herdsmen in Ukpabi Nimbo community, Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state.
The DDI revealed the army’s plan in unraveling the masterminds of the dastardly act, after questions from  journalists.Brig-Gen Abubakar said the army will team up with the police and other security outfits, in order to ensure the  protection of life and properties, which he noted  is a major priority of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government. He further explained that the president had ordered the military to as a matter of urgency to  apprehend  those behind the killings, after so much public outcry  and disappointment.He further reiterated that “The issue of security of lives and property rests solely on the Armed Forces and other security agencies, not only to tackle the herdsmen, but also any other criminal gang internally and externally cannot be tolerated."
