In Lagos State, Dead Staff of Local Governments have been found to still be on the payroll. This is embarrassing for a state that prides itself on being at the forefront of technological advancement in the Local Government Records keeping and Accounting practices to not have been able to discover this fraud earlier and nip it in the board. N25 Million has been recovered from January to March this year from such payments.The discovery was made by the Auditor-General in Local Governments in the state.
