I was one Nigerian who willingly supported the election of Muhammadu Buhari as President and I was of the opinion that when it came to the Economy, his administration will not particularly shine. I was proven wrong when i realised that the President's plan of action is to focus largely in infrastructure spending and thus drive the economy.I have been incensed by his body language of leaning favorably to the North and his supposed political allies but realised my folly when the president through the budget actually made provisions for massive developmental and infrastructural projects in the Southern part of the country where he wasn't exactly a popular choice for the head of government.
A massive rail project which was budgeted for at N60 Billion was effectively derailed by Senators who should know better. One just has to wonder, What kind of a people are we if 55 years after Independence, we still can't figure out what is best for ourselves and our country? What kind of people represent us in the National Assembly?
